I am about to try to repair a rear tire on a JD 520. It is leaking some calcium. I wanted to spellout my plan so if there were any major nono's someone could point them out 1) get all the calcium I can out 2) break loose the rim capturing bolts ( I think this is right-taking the rim off the wheel instead of the wheel off the tractor? the service manual does not say). 3) Jack up the axle and lower it onto blocks. 4) remove the rim mounts and pull the rim/tire off 5) I am going to try to break the bead by driving a truck tire up on it (a miracle hopefully occurs here) 6) get the tire off and inspect the rim, if it's OK I am going to have it sandblasted and paint it. 7) put tire back on rim with a new tube (I am not going to put calcium back in. 8) remount Any advice or warnings are greatly appreciated Have a Happy New Year Tom Wyble
