I know that this is a pretty minor problem in view of some of the other posts (Gary in TX; I pray and hope that you and your Father can share more of life together.), but I'm just curious as to your thoughts. I've been considering trading my 3/4 ton Chevy with 6.0 liter for a Avalanche 3/4 ton with 8.1 Vortex to be used as a hauler. When I look back on the milage of my pickup, I can't believe that it could be much worse with the 8.1...but maybe? Has anyone out there had experience using the big block for towing regarding milage or problems? I know diesel would be the logical choice, but I still remember all the troubles I had years ago with my 6.2's. Driving the 8.1 feels like a vehicle with a big electric motor...it justs moves without effort. But, I'm sure there's a reason for that 37 gallon gas tank. Thanks!

Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
