If it meets the required SAE weight and the API service classification in your manual, it doesn't matter who makes it. It's not like the refineries make a bad batch to sell to Wal-Mart. It cost more to change over the refinery equipment to make poor qualitiy lube oils than you'll ever make selling to Wal-Mart. And then you have to keep it separate in storage and on and on. Lube oil is a comodity. They (Wal-mart) get a good deal because they buy in vast quantities. I don''t believe brand is important. I've had a Ford Service Manager tell me that he's seen more cars that had lube related failures that used Penzoil. I don't believe him but that's what he said. I buy my oil at Costco. It's Chevron and they are cheaper than anyone else in my area and IT MEETS THE SAE WEIGHT REQUIREMENTS AND THE API SERVICE CLLASSIFICATION that the vehicle/tractor manufacturers specify.
