8N Runs about 1 min, stops, will start again after about 5 min

My 8N converted to 12 volt positive will run about 1 or 2 minutes and stop. After I let it sit for about 5 minutes I can start it up again. It has gas in it. I have replaced the points and put star washers under the screws as I thought the points were slipping and opening up. I now suspect the coil. By the way, thanks for the help on replacing the head gasket. Fortunatly there were no cracks in the block or head.
