Last spring, I spent 7 weeks as a work experience student at the local Case-IH dealership. From what I saw and heard there, Case and powershift do not go together. We had, oh, probably at least six 970's and 1070's in for powershift rebuilds, and about the same number of 2090's and 2290's. Compare that to only ONE standard transmission 970, which was in for a clutch. I'd advise you to beware the Case powershifts, but if you can find one with a standard, in good shape, go for it. A 970 or 1070 with a standard is a nearly bullet-proof tractor. Specter
