I do have to say this. When our 1600 was too tired to run the blower anymore, we'de run it with our 285. Now that the 1600 is rebuilt, it's back on the blower and it does a far better job running the blower than the 285 ever had.
Given the the 285 and 1080 have the same engine, and our 1600 has an overbore kit to bring it up to the same size engine as the 1650-55, it'd be a close race. If it's stationary PTO work, the Oliver hands down. Haven't had the 285 on a plow since we got the 1755 and then the 1855 and put them on the plow instead. The 1600 does pull the plow pretty well though, even without fluid or cast on the wheels.
Got a feeling it'd be a little closer than some think...
