SA generator again ???

After the very helpful advise of Gene, Red, and David I ran both tests on the regulator and had no luck. I know very little about these old generators "but I'm learning" What and where is the commentator, and if it's fried how would that explain the generator charging after I spray contact cleaner in it. Sorry about all the questions but I've just always been a what for, how to, how come, sort of person plus it will give me and others who visit the board a better understanding of whats going on here. Thanks again.
