Provided this is an overhead valve engine I suggest you take the valve cover off. When you have spark lined up and being delivered to the front cylinder (nearest the radiator) check the valves to see if they are both seated and there is clearance at the rocker arms.If this is not the situation reposition the mag to make this happen. Since you stated the compression exists equally on all cylinders the timing between the cam and crank should be O K. and the crank and cam is not broken. If the fire is being delivered to the above referenced cylinder and gas has been squirted into the cylinder and the plug reinstalled it should hit. Do you have the air cleaner connected to the carb or not? If connected, take it loose to ensure that the engine is breathing.
