I'm not sure if I am talking about the liftall pump. I'm new to wrenching on hydrolics ( and old tractors ) but what else would take hydrolic fluid? I just wanted to get the bucket up to move it out of the way and unhook. I had some ATF laying around and one quart did the trick. Before I use it next I have other repairs to make on it so i'll probably drain it and put in the good stuff. It leaks pretty bad and i noticed it was foaming up where it was coming out. By the way, I pulled the pan today like you said Red, and scooped out a good inch and a half of sludge. Suprisingly the screen and everything else was pretty clean. It all settled and packed in on the bottom. Also, I sprung a leak - left side of block right behind the carb rectangular cover. Noticed the water needs changing, and I saw a drain just below that ( I assume for the water ) it diddnt want to turn so I diddnt force it. Are those prone to breaking or can I give it good twist?
