Here's a thought. Instead of hooking up a hydraulic hose to the spark-plug hole, what if I hooked up a grease fitting? Spark plugs are threaded with NPT threads, are they not? Just get a short piece of iron pipe and a pipe cap. Drill a hole in the pipe cap and thread it for the grease fitting. Put the cap on the pipe, the grease fitting in the cap and the pipe in the spark plug hole. I could use my grease gun to force the piston out slowly. This way, I could take out the crank, and do a cylinder at a time. I should not end up with bent rods or flying pistons. The piston/rod may pop a bit coming out, but grease is not very compressible. I could then scrape out the grease, stuff most of it back into my grease gun and do the next cylinder. It might be a bit messy, but who in the tractor world doesn't like a little bit of a mess from time to time? Am I missing something?
