I checked my 300 last night and looked at the owners manual. There is a check valve located in the block attached to the battery case where the hydraulic lines connect for the cylinder to lift the fast hitch. Maybe that check valve is hung up. I couldn't find a mechanical lock device however mine may not be origional. The tractor was kind of cobbled up when I bought it. I haven't done a restoration, just have used it for the past 6 years. It was my main tractor for all those years.
