How to Plow?

For those that read my "pull Green with Red", I'm going to plow up about an acre for next seasons sweet corn, pumpkins,etc... I've never plowed before. The field I'm using is a meadow, probally never turned over before, sandy soil. Do I just hitch'er up and drag er' around or is there some trick to it all? Again, it's a 16" two bottom on pulled by my H. I know this may be a little big but if I set the depth high and plow'er twice, will this help??
