I'm gonna be going thru the same problem as you on a tractor I'm buying, so maybe we'll both get an education on this issue.

Dunno, I had never heard of a bad T/A until I got into this 'old tractor hobby' and started dealing with these 'high-hour' units. T/A's always seemed to work great for me on all the IH tractors I ever owned.

At any rate, I can't imagine farming without a T/A; it's a very handy feature.
