Oil choice

I am pretty sure I have seen a similar discussion on this board before but I am going to pose the question again. I have a '47 M and will be using it during the winter for two purposes: To blade my drive and to clear the horse maneur from the stalls and haul it to the field. I currently have Valvoline 30 weight in it. I am considering putting 10w-30 in it for the winter. Is this an acceptable weight? As usual, thanks!
