I have read many posts about H starters locking up and I was beginning to think it was an old wives tale until yesterday when I went to elevate some hay, the H starter clicked in gave a grunt and the tractor was dead, couldn't shake it by rocking it in 5th. It took longer to get my wrenches than it did to pull the starter, I oiled the bendix and shaft end, put it back on and started the tractor right up, I've got 2 H's and have had them for over five years and this is the first starter lock I've encountered..so its no old wive's tale after all, but an easy fix!....Mike in Exeter Ontario
