To all who offered suggestions, thank you very much. I am once again very impressed with the help you can get on these boards. Her's what I did. Now please tell me what I did. I connected a jumper wire to the J post on the generator and touched it to the positive terminal on the battery and the charge meter jumped toward the plus side. I thought this would stop when I disconnected the wire but it didn't. I let her run for 20 minutes than shut her off and started and it turned over like it used to. Still when I turn the lights on the needle shows a negative discharge. I think mabey the battery was so low it may need more charging. Did I just Re-polorize the regulator or is there something else ??
