M carb trouble?

I recently used my M outfitted with a three point hitch to move some round bales. I used the tractor for several hours, starting and stopping it. Toward the end of the day the tractor would only run a few minutes and then would starve for fuel. I would let it sit and it would run fine a few minutes then starve for fuel. I ordered a carb rebuild kit online which came with a float valve and a few o rings. Now the M only runs for about a minute then dies. Any ideas how to diagnose this monster?
