F-14 Shutters and Other Things.

We are restoring a 1939 F-14. Here are some current questions.
1. Did all F-12's and F-14"s have shutters on the radiator?
2. How do we tell if ours was the Kerosene special and how did they operate (start on gas, run on kerosene??)?
3. Can the belt pulley be disengaged and if not how was the tractor started when the belt was hooked to something (buzz saw etc.) We are not putting a starter on it - only the crank.
