Just bought a 1940 A and was curious about the cooling system. I've taken off the radiator and flushed it and the motor, backflushed and cleaned the crud out of the bottom inlet from the block to the lower hose. The 4 nickel sized holes in the block look to be clear. The system should be fairly clean unless the radiator itself is clogged. When I run the tractor for fifteen minutes or so (not under any load), and then turn it off. The radiator will belch and gurgle, aometimes with a minor amount of radiator fluid coming out of the overflow. Just wanted to know if this is normal for a thermo-syphon system in 97 degree weather or is it running too hot. With the tractor running and the radiator cap off, I can't tell if the the water is circulating or not. Clogged radiator or something else?
