A battery that is down to 12.15 volts is pretty well discharged and will not have a lot of cranking amps left. A fully charged battery will have 12.6 volts and can be considered fully discharged at 12.0 volts. Make sure you can turn the engine by hand. Using jumper cables from a good battery or vehicle, connect the negative to ground and touch the positive clamp to the A terminal on the Motor/Generator. It should crank the engine. If not loosen the belt and see if the unit will spin with no load.
