To ltf in nc. I think that is the same conclusion that I keep reaching - something must be wrong with the carb - I had it overhauled twice with no success (or no change anyway). I have checked out the intake pretty thoroughly, pulled a swab through the pipe, cleaned the filter, but will try your suggestion to disconnect the air intake to the carb and eliminate any possibility of that being a problem. Wish I knew someone locally that would have a carb to spare that would fit. Will check around. I really hate to buy one and find out it is something else. Could it have to do with the intake manifold in some way ? Would a leak in the manifold or manifold gasket cause this problem ? Thanks so much for your response and help on this. 'Bout ready to trade it in for a diesel ! Been saying that for a long time. Thanks.
