I bought a rough scrape blade a year or so ago for $75 and, although lots of rust, it seems to work OK. However, the vertical tube on the back has split at the corner of the tube (will try to post a pic). I'm not competent to weld the split so was thinking I'd weld a piece of 1/4" thick x 2 x 2" angle on the corner to secure it. Basically wrap the corner with the piece of angle. My welder is a 120v stick welder with which I've done some minor welding repairs and built a welder cart. I have E6011 and E7014 welding rods on hand. Question is, would a 120v stick welder work with this repair given the rust of the tube and the stress the tube is likely to incur? And, which welding rod would be the best to do the job? Thanks.
