Phosphorus acid

I hope I spelled that right!
I have taken the chassis, engine etc on my 8n back down to bare metal with paint strippers and brushing. I then used phosphorus acid to coat everything, let dry and rinsed off as per instructions. I am left with a greyish powdery substance now and am unsure if I am to wire brush this off or go ahead and prime over it. There is no further instructions on the acid as to what to do about this substance.
