Massey Ferguson MH-50 Sticking in Gear

I have a MH-50 Massey Ferguson tractor that periodically gets stuck in a gear, and the shift lever won't shift it to a new gear. I have been told that this is caused by a worn gear shift lever, that is slipping out of the shifter fork slider slot, or is a worn fork slider assembly, letting the gear shift lever jump out of the slider's slot. Is this what is really happening? If not, what is happening and how would I fix it? When it happens now, I un-pin the shift lever and wiggle it around until it finds it's way back into the fork slider slot where it should be, and then it works until it gets stuck in a gear again. Any advice?
