Thanks for the advice; just what I was looking for. The cutting area is a field I'd like to keep in rough grass... 6-8 inches would be fine. I just don't want broad-leaf weed or thistle. Time I have plenty of. I'm not shooting for a golf course fairway, so what would your recommendation be? A rotary?
I also have a Cub with a 5' Woods finish mower. I cut waist high growth with that this summer. It was slow, but it did the job.
