Pete, I don't want to sound pessimistic, but I think you will find that if you don't mow at least once a week with the finish mower you will have defeated your purpose. With any brand mower the ideal situation for a finish mower is 3"-4" grass height max, I didn't say it has to be but that will be the most efficient size to cut.. I am in Southeast Texas. If your in a cooler drier climate you might get by, but if your in a fast growth area I don't think you'll be too happy with any brand mower if you let it get much higher than that.. We have 2 Woods mowers we junked out, but they lasted forever. We replaced them with Progressive mowers, and to my opinion the progressive is a better mower. It's more forgiving on rough houseing and is easier to work on, and the parts are less expensive. The life of any finish mower will be the maintenance, and keeping it clean after every use. The sheet metal is where the mower will go out first. I know I'll catch all kind of flack, but I don't think you'll be happy with the mower or 8N in the useage you have told, and you'll get plenty of stick time on the tractor.
