Oil Consumption

I've owned my H now for about 3 months. I finally decided to change the oil not knowing how long or
what type of oil the previous owner had used. I drained the old oil (it was filthy) and added 5 quarts of non-detergent 30 weight. I ran the tractor for about 1 1/2 hours and it was more than a quart low. Is the capacity 5 or 6 quarts on the
H?? The engine doesn't smoke or leak. About a week ago, someone posted tips on tuning the H carb. It had been running rich (black smoke) but I tried the tips posted and it runs great. Thanks for info. Steve
