SMTA won't turn over

Tried to get my SMTA running today. Hasn't run since parked last Dec. New battery, fresh clean terminals, large cables. It spun maybe 1/4 turn then stopped. Now, only loud click from solenoid and no engine turn. Can't hand crank as that is missing. Assume it is corrosion in cylinders, and will have to pull it. Where is the safe place to hook onto it. It is a narrow front. And do I try to start in 1, 2, 3,? Never have pull started a tractor. GW
