Hendirk and Dale: You have some questions about this gear box. I actually know very little about it. The photo was e mailed to me, around 4 years ago. It had a very brief description stating that it gave 540 pto at rated engine speed, as well as a creeper gear, about 1/2 the speed of 1st gear. It came to me at a time I was away thus was in my mail box for a spell. I filed the photo and accidently deleted his e mail, and have never been able to contact him since. He found me initially via YT discussion as his first communication came to me via YT, stating he had photos for me. I have reason to believe this may have come from Centeral or South America, but not certain.
Dale, I believe this unit may use the same reduction gears from top shaft to the current pto as the distance looks about the same as if factory. The only way I can see a creeper speed coming from this, is another set of gears from pto back to bottom, and they must be using a pinion shaft coming in from the back to drive the crown ring gear. If that drive going back to rear end has a clutch, then that clutch could give Live PTO while in creeper. I suspect it only has one creeper speed and that one must leave transmission in neutral while using.
I post this photo ocasionally, hoping someone may recognize the unit and can tell us more about it, how many are around, where they are at, etc. Yes I to would like to know more.

Today's Featured Article - The Cletrac General GG and the BF Avery A - A Bit of History - by Mike Ballash. This article is a summary of what I have gathered up from various sources on the Gletrac General GG and the B. F. Avery model A tractors. I am quite sure that most of it is accurate. The General GG was made by the Cleveland Tractor Company (Cletrac) of Cleveland, Ohio. Originally the company was called the Cleveland Motor Plow Company which began in 1912, then the Cleveland Tractor Company (1917) and finally Cletrac.
