Best tractor? What do you know about JD4020?

(Town life is an uncivilized place for man and families.)

From these forums it seems to be the general consensus that a Ford 8n and that class of tractor is unsuitable for farming 40 to 160 acres.

Several folks have advised that bigger tractors with more horse power is highly advisable. Several folks have said that the John Deere 4020 would be a better choice. Problem for me is the expense above the smaller tractors.

I will have a small family farm to grow our own food and maybe have a little crop to sell. I'll be quitting my fulltime job and will work in town 2 to 3 days per week. Point is that my time will be limited for croping and tending to stock. Acreage will be between 50 to 160 acres. Will raise alfalfa for hay, corn for feed, soybeans.

With the above info in mind, "What is your opinion on a tractor and size?"

What do you think about a John Deere 4020? Any other reccomends?

Thanks for your input. Appreciate you sharing your knowledge and experience. Thank you in advance.
