Can anyone please point me in the right direction? I am trying to repair a b275 tractor with a diesel engine. I am pretty sure it is a bd144. There is no serial plates on the tractor to identify it.
It has been running perfectly for the last 10 years and recently I replaced the glow plugs as it was hard to start in the winter.
It worked perfectly after this for about two weeks, now after about 10 - 20 mins of running it just shudders to a stop.
I have replaced fuel, ran injector cleaner, replaced fuel filters, bleed the fuel injector pump.
It doesn't matter how many times I turn it over or try to crash start it. It then sits for a few days and then after many times turning it over it will fire and run well for another 20 - 30 minutes.
I have had the injectors looked at and they were fine too.
The only thing that I can think of now is that the timing is out???? It has a fuel injector pump on the right hand side of the engine, (looking from the front).
Can anyone shed some light on how this operates? And whether it easy to check if it is setup correctly?
Thanks for all your help it is greatly appreciated.
