Hi all... I've got a Farmall 140 that usually starts right off the bat, and runs well....after using for a while, if I turn it off, the battery lacks the juice to start it again...I have noticed that the charge meter while the engine is running has the needle over on the negative side...what gives? Bad regulator? bad generator? The manuals say this is a positive ground tractor, but when I hook it up with positive to ground nothing works (lights, etc...) - when i hook up negative to ground it works well....I'm thinking 2 possibilities - 1) everything is hooked up backwards so that it would work on negative ground or 2) this tractor is actually a negative ground - which some 140s are.... Anyone have any suggestions or tips? Am i overlooking something? Help!?!
